The Farm, Summertown, TN 38483. 615-964-3574. World-famous
vegetarian eco-village. Features the 'Ecovillage Training
Center' where "You can walk through our strawbale cabin,
dome, organic gardens, and soon-to-be-completed Green Dragon
tavern (the largest cob structure in North America, the
first begun east of the Mississippi) and wetlands filtration
system". Workshops & events at The Farm include: Natural
Building, Solar Installation, Permaculture Fundamentals,
World Village of Bamboo Artisans, Sustainable Village
Design, Midwife Workshops, and the 'Communities Conference -
Activist Summit'! Visitor policy: "The Farm is a community
of 250 people living on 3-square miles of hilltop in
Southern middle Tennessee. Because the villagers at the Farm
enjoy the peace and quiet of their surroundings (and don't
see themselves as living in Disneyland) they ask that
visitors write or call in advance, or attend one of the
regularly scheduled conferences and other special events
hosted by The Farm." They also present a 'Farm Experience
Weekend' for those interested in living at the
